If you have a family or a busy life, you know just how important it is to maintain the look and cleanliness of your home. For example, floors require regular cleaning and care in order to maintain their appearance and cleanliness. We drag in tons of dirt and germs on our shoes and outerwear every time we walk into the house. There are a variety of different cleaning machines and methods available, such as ones used for scrubbing, buffing, polishing, and much more.
In this blog, we will discuss the six different methods of floor care that professional companies use to maintain the look and cleanliness of flooring. Continue reading to get a more in-depth look at the steps we take to recommend germ cleaning services.
Mopping: Mopping should be done regularly. The frequency of mopping is dependent on the amount of foot traffic in your home or facility. For high foot traffic areas, the floors should be mopped daily using a damp mop or with a dust mop that has been chemically treated. There are a variety of mops, such as mops with natural or synthetic fibers. New mop heads should be submerged in the water for at least an hour before use and mop heads should be rotated and dried after each use.
Scrubbing: Scrubbing is the next step that we take when cleaning floors, which involves a stiff scrubbing pad or brush that is attached to a rotary floor cleaning machine. Depending on the type of flooring, we will either use a brush or pad that moves in a circular motion, which will brush the dirt and debris away.
Polishing: The next step is polishing, otherwise known as burnishing. Similar to buffing, this is done to create a smoother surface; however, is essentially the dry method of buffing as we do not use any polishing spray at this point. The rotary polishing brush is set at a fast speed, which creates a smoother surface and glossy finish.
Buffing: Buffing is usually done after scrubbing or polishing. This method is done by spraying the floor with a polishing solution and buffing the surface with a rotary floor machine. The rotary floor machine that we use simultaneously sprays the floor with the polishing solution as it buffs the surface. Buffing creates a high-gloss finish on the surface.
Scarifying: Scarifying is the next floor cleaning method that is done by removing a thick layer of soil, which is done using a wire brush cutting tool. The bristles of the brush are then cut into the impacted soiling and are removed by the brush cutting tool using a chisel-like technique.
Spray cleaning: Last but not least, it is time for spray cleaning. This is done by applying buffable polish and is then cleaned with a brush or pad removing the soiling and surface layer of polish. This will result in a glossy and smooth finish.
